Empowering Young People: Hedgecock Community Centre Hosts Non-Accredited First Aid Course by StreetDoctors
At Hedgecock Community Centre, we believe in equipping young people with essential life skills that go beyond the classroom. Recently, we had the privilege of partnering with StreetDoctors to offer a non-accredited first aid course aimed at empowering our youth.
A group of enthusiastic young people, ranging from ages 11to 18, gathered at Hedgecock Community Centre to learn vital first aid techniques. Led by experienced instructors from StreetDoctors, the course covered topics such as CPR, choking, and managing bleeding.
One of the most exciting aspects of the course was the hands-on training sessions, where participants had the opportunity to practice their skills in a supportive environment. Through interactive demonstrations and practical scenarios, they gained confidence in their ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
For many participants, the first aid course was more than just a learning opportunity – it was a chance to develop essential life skills and build confidence. As they mastered each technique, they grew in resilience and self-assurance, knowing that they had the knowledge and ability to make a difference in a crisis.
The impact of the first aid course extends far beyond the classroom. Armed with valuable knowledge and skills, the young participants are now better equipped to handle emergencies in their homes, schools, and communities. We are confident that they will continue to make a positive difference wherever they go.
At Hedgecock Community Centre, we are committed to providing opportunities for growth, learning, and empowerment for young people in our community. We are grateful to StreetDoctors for their partnership and support in making this first aid course a success.
As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to empowering our youth and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive. Together, we can build a safer, healthier, and more resilient community for all.
