The Hedgecock Community Centre brought the whole community together on Saturday 16th of July with the “free” Upney Community Fun Day. The team spent the last 3 weeks planning the event in the Barking & Dagenham borough, which turned out to be a huge success with over 300 people from all walks of life attending throughout the day.
The Fun Day had an assortment of activities on offer such as bouncy castles to a nerf shoot out range, face painting, henna designs, fun fair games and much more.
Boxers Fitness Academy provided on the day entertainment with a boxing demonstration which saw members of the public take part, showing them how to box as well as advice on how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Everyone gathered around Councillor Faruk Choudhury, the Civic Mayor of LBBD who made a speech and told the crowd that he “was proud of the works carried out by HCC in the community and will support a bigger funday next year in Mayesbrook park”.
Huge thank you to everyone from the community that turned up. Special thanks to all of our sponsors who helped make this day a reality and to all of our stall holders for allowing us the opportunity to help market your brands. Big shout out to all of our youth club members that helped out through out the day, especially the team that superbly managed the BBQ and food distribution. They did a fantastic job at helping to provide delicious burgers all through the day. We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you at our bigger event next year!
