On Saturday, 15 June 2019 the Barking Eid Fun Day was held at the Hedgecock Community Centre (HCC) in partnership with Barking Youth Link (BYL).
The centre was buzzing with more than 600 people partaking activities including Bouncy Castles, BBQ, Air Juggler Shooting Alley, Kids Ball Pond, Bazar, cake sales, arts and crafts, face painting and Henna artists and more.
Young people (and those young at heart) were engaged throughout the event and were awarded for winning various competitions by Cllrs and HCC Chairman, Yousuf Khan.
The event was a huge success and brought the whole community together. Yousuf Khan said, “this was our first Eid event and in collaboration with Barking Youth Link. We were overwhelmed with the huge response and will continue to hold more community events to bring people from all walks of life to create a cohesive and strong community. I would like to take this opportunity to say it was a pleasure to have hosted Deputy Council Leader Cllr Saima Ashraf, Cllr Kashif Haroon and Cllr Faruk Choudhury and many other respected community leaders.”
Please visit the centre webpage and Facebook to find out more about HCC and BYL events and various other activities held at the Hedgecock Community Centre and how you can get more involved.
