On this blazing hot day, more than 300 people packed out HCC and the surrounding areas. Also in attendance was Cllr Faruk Choudhury, and the leader of the council, Darren Rodwell, amongst other community members. Activities included BBQ, Bouncy Castles, Air Shoot, Air Juggler, Arts and Craft for kids, Face Painting, Henna Artists, various handicrafts stalls.
Also there was a charity stall by Bangladesh Regeneration Trust UK (BRTUK) and Barking Community Forum (BCF) selling mojitos, fruit platters and PB’s chutneys. The main attraction was various boxing demos and showcasing of talent by Boxer Fitness Academy (BFA).
Cllr Darren Rodwell acknowledge the work of the HCC management during the height of the coronavirus pandemic and how they helped to keep the resident safe and ensure the borough was moving forward regardless of the situation.
Yousuf Khan, Chair of HCC thanked all the staff and volunteers for working extremely hard at a very short time to put the event together and he also thanked all the residents and partners for making it yet another successful event this year.
Finally Nazir Ali, HCC Marketing Lead added that this event showed the community has outgrown the HCC area and hopeful that next year this event could be moved to Mayesbrook park and with council support we could make it an annual community fair.
